The following are services offered at
all three libraries in varying degrees. The Main Library
has more comprehensive services while the Community libraries focus
on providing popular materials for all ages.
Art
Gallery and Display Areas
Exhibit and display space is available at the Main Library. Call
789-7127 for more information or to schedule. A limited amount
of space is available at the Community libraries. Call North (789-7102)
or South (789-7103) for their schedule.
Assistance
for Persons with Disabilities
Bookdrops
Bookdrops are available outside the Main Street door and a drive-up on
the South side of the Main Library near the parking lot. Both
Community libraries have bookdrops located in their entryways.
Electronic
Resources
Besides the Internet, the library has a number of other electronic resources
available on computer terminals. These include CD-Rom stations
with wide variety of databases. Pick up a brochure at the Reference
desk or ask a staff member.
E-mail
E-mail terminals are available at all three libraries. Patrons
may log on free to the Internet with his/her WRLS/La Crosse Public
Library card. If s/he chooses not to get a library card, then s/he
has two choices to access the Internet.
- He/she may pay a $1.00 for 2 hours
of Internet/E-mail time.
- At the Main Library, there is a
free 15-minute “express” e-mail service. This is designed to
provide quick, convenient e-mail access ideal for vacationers,
business travelers, or those who are just “passing through.
Children may use the Internet unless
parents request no usage. You may print from the Internet
for $0.10 per page.

Archives staff at the Main Library will assist patrons in person, on
the phone or through "Ask A Librarian" on the library's web
page (www.lacrosselibrary.org/archives/).

floor. Staff at North and South are also available to help patrons.

If the library doesn't have the material you need, we'll check with other
libraries. Please ask at a service desk.
Internet
Internet terminals are available at all three libraries. Patrons

Stop at the Circulation desk of the Main Library for fees and scheduling. The
study room facilities are available at no charge. North and South
libraries have free meeting areas. Check with them about availability
and capacity.
Programs
for adults & children
A variety of programming for all ages is scheduled on a regular basis. Children's
programs are announced in our "Chin Choppers" newsletter. Book
discussion programs include Let's Talk About It, Great Books, and Chapters. These
and other programs are announced through flyers, newsletters, posters,
media, or check out the Calendar
of Events.

identifying authors or titles.

Tours of each of the library facilities are available and may be tailored
to fit each group's interests. Call the library for scheduling.
