News and Events
Many of you already know that the library, as part of the city, is facing deep budget shortages in 2015. We have introduced a plan to keep both branches open, albeit at reduced hours and services. The plan, summarized in today's Tribune, assumes that there will be no further adjustments to the library's allocation from the city.
All three locations will be closed on Friday, July 4, for Independence Day. Remember, it's not the mayo that will make you sick at your picnic, it's the potatotes! We'll be back July 5, at all three locations.
Join us Sunday, May 18th for a special family-friendly Footsteps of La Crosse Historic Walking Tour. This tour covers the 10th/Cass District and starts at 2:30. It's a fun and fact-filled 30-minute tour suitable for all ages. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED! Call Archives at 608.789.7136 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We missed self-check almost as much as you, but today, it returns! Here are a few new things you'll need to know: 1) You'll need to have your library card to scan. There's no keypad to type in your number. Check-out will help you ( and tell you how much it helps us when you bring your card) if you don't have your card. 2) To print receipt, you'll need to "sign out." 3) You can now view and cancel your holds from self-check; and 4) You can now view your checked-out items AND renew materials. Pretty spiffy! Thanks for your patience.
