Banned Books Week- September 24-30, 2017

Celebrate your right to read with national Banned Books Week, September 24-30, 2017. The La Crosse Public Library is teaming up with our partners at the UW-La Crosse Murphy Library, the Pump House Regional Arts Center, and the Alternative Truth Project for a series of community events to commemorate the occasion. Planned activities for the week include public readings, read-outs, read-ins, and the first ever La Crosse Banned Books Cabaret.

The Friends of the Library are selling coupons for a prorated discount on artwork from nationally represented artists purchased at the By James Behind the Brewery Gallery. Coupons are now on sale in the Friends Bookshop at the Main Street Library or directly from members of the Friends. 

Browse art and purchase coupons at the By James Behind the Brewery Gallery, 1026 Front Street South, on Thursday, September 21 from 4-6 PM at the Friends of the Library reception.

September-October Storytimes

A new session of storytimes starts September 11, 2017 and runs through October 21. No registration required for any of these storytimes! Drop-ins welcome. Storytimes will be held in the Children's Room at the Main Street Library unless otherwise noted. A new season of Monday Mornings at Main returns on September 11. Join us at 9:30 AM every Monday this September-November for a series of lifelong learning for ages 55 and better.
