December is Lego Month!

11.5.14  Join Lego Check-out Club for ages 4 and up at all three locations! Help us create a massive LEGO tower—just by checking out books! Every time you check out during the month of December, add LEGOs to our structure. How big will it get? And if that's not enough Lego-licious fun, we're showing the Lego Movie on Wednesday Dec 10 from 2:30-4 pm for ages 5 and up in the Main library boat (complete with surround-sound!). See you at the library!

Give the Gift of a Book

11.28.14 We are collecting new books (or gift cards for books) for children and teens through Monday December 8. The books will be distributed by the Salvation Army through their holiday distribution program. Please consider sharing the gift of reading with a child in our community by dropping off a brand new book at any of our three locations!

Special Parent-Power Workshop

Parents and adults interested in tips and information on the importance of reading in the lives of our community's preschoolers are invited to a special workshop on Saturday Nov 8, 9:30-11:30 am in the Main Library auditorium. The morning features presentations by nationally recognized pediatrician Dr. Dipesh Navsaria as well as tips for making reading fun from staff of the Parenting Place and the Children's Dept.
