Friends of the La Crosse Public Library-Bookshop & Book Sale SourcesFriends of the La Crosse Public Library

Friends receive materials (books, magazines, CDs, VHS, DVDs, etc.) from two sources:

Gifts: As people clean out estates, closets, or trim down their collections, the library gets first choice for using this material in its collection. The Friends’ Bookshop and the Friends’ Collector’s Corner get the second choice for selling donated items. The lower level storage area receives the remainder of the donated items for book sales.

Withdrawn materials: The La Crosse Public Library constantly weeds its collections to make room for new material that is currently and actively used. Criteria for withdrawal includes age, condition, multiple copies, and usage.

All Bookshop, Collector’s Corner and book sale proceeds after expenses benefit the library. Donations of materials are tax-deductible.

Bookshop Hours:

Wednesday: 11-3 p.m.
Thursday: 11-5 p.m.
