American Farm Bureau

The American Farm Bureau helps you keep on top of the latest legislation and policy issues that could affect the farming community.  

The Core Historical Literature of Agriculture

This collection was published between the early nineteenth century and middle to late twentieth century.  It covers such topics as:  agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, animal science, crops and their protection, food science, forestry, human nutrition, rural sociology, and soil science.

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations offers international news on the agriculture industry.  It includes publications and special in-depth articles.  You can find out information on a variety of subjects such as agriculture, economics, fisheries, nutrition, sustainable development, trade, etc.

FAOSTAT

FAOSTAT is an online and multilingual database containing time-series records covering international statistics in the following areas:  production, trade, food balance sheets, fertilizer and pesticides, land use, irrigation, forest products, fishery products, population, agricultural machinery, and food aid shipments.

National Agriculture Statistics Database

This site will provide accurate and timely statistics on agriculture. It includes historical, charts, and maps.

Small Scale Fruit Production:  A Comprehensive Guide

"The guide is intended for people who wish to produce fruit on a small scale and who are not legally licensed to use pesticides.  It emphasizes the most recently developed production methods that use alternative pest control strategies, such as integrated pest management, to reduce pesticide use."

USDA Crop Profiles

Crop Profiles tries to provide the complete production story for a commodity and a look at current research activities directed at finding replacement strategies for the pesticides of concern. Crop Profiles include typical use information (not simply what pesticide labels state) and have a common format for ease of use.

World Farming

World Farming covers international topics that concern everyone, including the latest news and articles from around the world.  It has sections on agribusiness, antibiotics and farming, food policy, farm workers, and farm aid.
