Career Development eManual is intended
to help you reevaluate your old career or help start a new career.
The manual starts with a self assessment task which asks who are
you and where would you like to go. Next, it asks you to look at
what careers are you interested in and how to research those particular
careers. Steps three and four involve making a decision and contacting
employers. Step five has you working and then step six continues
the re-evaulation process.

test or inventory that is offered free to the public. The Career
Interest Measure is taken by an individual and instantly scored
on the Internet. Tthe results of the career inventory are linked
to the Occupational Outlook Handbook.

Career Planning is provided by the About.com
Networt. Iit groups a variety of resources that are available on
the Internet. The site explores everything from the very first
job, to women only sites, to job searching, to writing the resume,
to finding mentors. A site worth visiting first on your career
exploration in life.
Career Voyages
Career Voyages is a collaboration between
the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Labor.
"It is designed to provide information on high growth, high demand
occupations along with the skills and education needed to attain
those jobs."

Hunter’s Bible
The Job Hunter’s Bible is a supplement
to the book, WHAT COLOR IS YOUR PARACHUTE? One goal of this site
is to provide a net guide to Internet resources that are available
for job seeking. The second goal is to provide articles on employment
and other career related items.
Monthly
Labor Review
The Monthly Labor Review is
a monthly publication available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The
online version is a counterpart of the print edition that the La
Crosse Public Library receives. Read articles from the Monthly

Outlook Handbook
The OCCUPATIONAL OUTLOOK HANDBOOK provides
a personal look to a particular career, by describing what a person
does on the job, the work conditions, training and education, earnings,
and expect job prospects. A must to look at when researching careers.
O*Net
O*Net helps make occupational information
interactive and accessible for all. You can search for occupations
by exploring the list provided, or search by occupational skills,
or search for related occupations to the one you have selected. Results
can be displayed in two ways: a snapshot or detail report
(that gives the specifics on your selected occupation).
Princeton’s
Review: Careers
Princeton’s Review provides information
on how to find the perfect job for you. It includes articles on
resume and cover letter writing. Review also provides tips on how
to ace the interview once you have the made the first step in job
seeking. Try out the Princeton
Review Guide to Your Career, a 24 question quiz that asks
easy stuff about you, and then they will analyze your answers to
determine your most likely interests and work style.
Riley
Guide
The Riley Guide provides a collection
of Internet resources for all aspects of career planning. The site
does not list jobs or provides a place to post a resume, but it
does provide information about what can be done on the Internet
either for free or for a charge.
