Collection on Critical Global Issues

The Collection on Critical Global Issues was developed in 1999 by United Nations University Press.  It contains 210 publications in the fields of agriculture and land management, development, environment, sustainability, food and nutrition, natural resource development, science and technology.

Earthforce  

Hosted by the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia, Earthforce offers information on volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and avalanches. Short explanations of each phenomenon are followed by links to other web sites with further information, and recent news accounts.

Geology

Geology includes basic geology, fossils, geophysics, cave science, dinosaurs, earthquakes and evolution.

Global Change Master Directory

The Global Change Master Directory is a comprehensive directory of data sets concerning global change research.  It includes data sets covering climate change, agriculture, the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and oceans, geology, geography and human influences on global change.

Ocean Atlas

"The UN Atlas of the Oceans is an Internet portal providing information relevant to the sustainable development of the oceans. It is designed for policy-makers who need to become familiar with ocean issues and for scientists, students and resource managers who need access to databases and approaches to sustainability."

World Environment Library

The World Environment Library is a collection of 400 publications of ideas and solutions in the fields of agriculture, biodiversity, climate changes, environmental impact assessment, energy, health, natural resources, policy, sustainable development, waste management and water.
