The AIER Cost of Living Calculator was developed by the American Institute for Economic Research.  It will compare the relative value (purchasing power of the dollar) from 1913 to the present.

County and City Data Book is an electronic version of the 1988, 1994, 2004 County and City Data Books.  It is offered through the University of Virginia and Statistical Data Center.  Data is provided for a wide variety of topics:  agriculture, banking, climate, crime, education, elections, and much more.

Economagic.com:   Economic Time Series Project

Economagic is a "comprehensive site of free, easily available economic time series data useful for economic research, in particular economic forecasting."  It currently contains over 100,000 time series, and custom charts can be retrieved.  The sets are mainly from U.S. statistics.

A handy place to find the latest daily releases on key economic indicators from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Economic Statistics Briefing Room

Economic Statistics Briefing Room's purpose is to provide "easy access to current Federal economic indicators.  It provides links to information produced by a number of federal agencies.  All of the information included in the Economic Statistics Briefing Room is maintained and updated by the statistical units of those agencies."

How Much is that Worth Today compares the purchasing power of money in the United States ( or colonies) from 1665 to any other year including the present.

U.S. Historical Census Data Browser

The U.S. Historical Census Data Browser "describes the people and the economy of the US for each state and county from 1790 to 1960."  This site is made available through the University of Virginia and Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research.

What is a dollar Worth?

This site includes a CPI inflation calculator that lets you enter a year to find out what an item or service purchased in a given year would be worth in 19?? dollars.
