Center for Business Planning

Center for Business Planning has two major sections:  "business planning resources" and "examples of business plans."  In the business planning resources, you will find a web directory offering research materials for every possible line of business.  In the   business plans, there are sample plans that have won a competition from Business Resource Software, Inc.

CCH Business Owner's Toolkit

The Commerce Clearing House's (CCH) Toolkit offers the SOHO guidebook that discusses the value of starting a small business and the essentials needed to make it successful. The "Business Tools" section covers model business documents including sample letters, contracts, forms, and policies ready for you to customize — from a "Sample Independent Contractor Agreement" to a "Job Application Form," to financial spreadsheet templates. There is help for managing your business finances— from balancing your checkbook to creating your own financial statements. There are checklists of information you need at a glance, such as   whether you qualify for the home office write-off to the right things to do and say during an employee termination interview.

More Business offers business "how to's" from starting a business to managing your company and staff.  It includes templates for business and marketing plans, contracts and agreements, legal forms, and business checklists.  It also includes articles and interactive tools.

Office Depot:  Business Tools

Office Depot:  Business Tools offers a convenient place to find resources for small businesses.  It includes local news, free downloadable forms (OSHA forms, job references, worker's compensation, etc) a SMALL BUSINESS HANDBOOK, and a web directory of other Internet resources.

Federal Business Opportunities

This site is the single source for federal government procurement opportunities that exceed $25,000.  This site has replaced the Commerce Business Daily newspaper.

Small Business Administration

The SBA web site includes an enormous amount of information for those thinking of starting, buying, selling, or expanding a business.

Small Business Management Series

This site is a collection of Small Business Administration publications to help get your small business off the ground. It includes the following series:  “Emerging Business,” “Financial Management,” “Management and Planning,” “Marketing,” “Products/Ideas/Inventions,” “Personnel Management,” and “Crime Prevention.”

Women's Business Center

Women's Business Center is part of the U.S. Small Business Administration.  It includes resources and articles focusing solely on women entrepreneurs.
