History The La Crosse Musician's Association Local 201 A.F.M. was organized on Labor Day, Sept. 1, 1902. The Union, affiliated with the American Federation of Musicians, maintained minimum pay scale requirements and working conditions. Although not is known about the early history of the organization, union members were active in the early Langstadt's Orchestra, La Crosse Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, and the La Crosse Concert Band.
