Home Delivery

Are you confined to your home or unable to visit the library in person?   If so, check out our home delivery service.

Who is Eligible?

Any person who’s temporarily or permanently unable to come to the library because of illness, disability, or other factors, and lives within the city of La Crosse, is eligible for this free service.

How does the service work?

Volunteers will select library materials based on your reading interests and deliver them to your home at a prearranged time. When you are finished with the materials, the volunteer will pick them up and bring them back to the library. This service is available all year round but may also be seasonal (ex. winter only).

If you think this service may benefit you or someone you know, just call Mary Dunn at the La Crosse Public Library, 789-7145.

Interested in becoming a home delivery volunteer?

Be part of the La Crosse Public Library’s volunteer team and have the opportunity to share your people skills as well as your love of reading.   Each volunteer averages three hours per month per client.  You will receive staff support regarding book selection, computer use, materials location, library familiarity, etc.  Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation and be physically capable of carrying book bags for delivery of materials.

Call Mary Dunn, Reader's Advisory Librarian at 789-7145 or Myrna Paulson, Volunteer Manager at 789-7125 for more information or to sign up as a volunteer.
