The Government Document Librarian at La Crosse Public Library has complied a topic listing of local, state, and federal related government web sites. These sites are created and maintained by organizations and individuals throughout the world. LPL cannot be responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of these sites. The inclusion of a link does not mean that LPL endorses or sponsors the products or services, if any, described or offered by these web sites. Use the drop-down menu to access the listing: Business & Economics The Beige Book published by the Board of Governors Federal Reserve Bank gathers anecdotal information on current economic conditions in its District through reports from Bank and Branch directors and interviews with key business contacts, economists, market experts, and other sources. The Beige Book summarizes this information by District and sector. An overall summary of the twelve district reports is prepared by a designated Federal Reserve Bank on a rotating basis. "The Career Guide to Industries provides information on available careers by industry, including the nature of the industry, working conditions, employment, occupations in the industry, training and advancement, earnings and benefits, employment outlook, and lists of organizations that can provide additional information." A directory to the various district reserve banks. Interactive Tariff and Trade Data Tariff and Trade Data information is available for all U.S. Exports and Imports. North American Industry Classification System "NAICS was developed jointly by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to provide new comparability in statistics about business activity across North America." O*Net helps make occupational information interactive and accessible for all. You can search for occupations by exploring the list provided, or search by occupational skills, or search for related occupations to the one you have selected. Results can be displayed in two ways: a snapshot or detail report (that gives the specifics on your selected occupation). The Occupation Outlook Handbook provides a personal look to a particular career, by describing what a person does on the job, the work conditions, training and education, earnings, and expect job prospects. A must to look at when researching careers. STAT-USA (Password Required-Ask at the Reference Desk) "STAT-USA/Internet, a service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is the site for the U.S. business, economic and trade community, providing authoritative information from the Federal government."
