The Government Document Librarian at La Crosse Public Library has complied a topic listing of local, state, and federal related government web sites. Taxes-2008 Tax Season

AARP tax aide volunteers will begin preparing taxes at the library on Friday, February 1. 

Appointments are required.  The tax phone line is available beginning Monday, January 14.  Please call 789-8112 to schedule an appointment.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

AARP tax aides are on-site in the library’s lower level auditorium:

  • Mondays             1-4 p.m.
  • Tuesdays            1-4 p.m.
  • Wednesdays      1-4 p.m.
  • No appointments on Thursdays
  • Fridays                10 a.m.-1 p.m.

 This is a free service provided to middle and low-income taxpayers, with special attention given to people 60 and older.

Tax Aide is a joint venture with RSVP volunteers staffing the appointment phone, AARP tax preparers and the La Crosse Public Library.
