AARP-Tax-Aide volunteers prepare federal and state returns for middle and low-income taxpayers, with special attention given to people 60 and older. Tax-Aide is a partnership of AARP, RSVP volunteers and the Library. This service is available February-April by appointment only.
Tax-Aide 2017: appointment phone line opens on Monday, January 16. Call 789.7443 to make your appointment. Leave a message if there's no answer. The appointment desk will be staffed weekdays, 9-4, until April 12. AARP tax preparers are on-site at the La Crosse Public Library beginning Wednesday, February 1.
Tax Forms, Online Filing, and Where is My Refund?
All three La Crosse libraries receive a limited number of paper Federal and Wisconsin tax forms. Tax forms, including previous years, are available to print from the following websites:

Online Filing (e-file)
Library staff cannot recommend particular online filing services, type or fill out forms, or offer tax advice.

You can order many federal tax forms and publications at the IRS website. Or you may request tax forms by calling 800.829.3676 or write to the following address: Internal Revenue Service, 1201 N. Mitsubishi Motorway, Bloomington, IL 61705-6613. You should receive a response within 10 days after your request is received.
