Losey Blvd & State Road, 1970 State Road and Losey Boulevard South looking west, 1970

Losey Boulevard South and State Road both were four-lane streets. K-Mart was built on the northeast corner in 1965, after the Ohio developer fought with the Common Council on a rezoning issue. On the third request, council members approved the zoning change from residential to local business and residential to parking after the developer agreed to build sidewalks and some other minor construction.

The 2003 intersection photograph also shows Losey Boulevard as a four-lane street with left-turn lanes. State Road includes left-turn lanes to make traffic flow more efficiently. K-mart remains at its original location while other businesses have changed. Tall signs dominate the scene as they did in 1970.
