Is making our community a better place part of your New Year’s resolutions? In 2019, the La Crosse Public Library is looking for new volunteers to join us in our mission to help our community evolve, adapt, and thrive. To this end, we invite you to consider volunteering at the public library. Check out our current volunteer opportunities below. For more info, please contact Heather Miller, Volunteer Coordinator, at (608) 789-7125 or email@example.com.
AARP Tax-Aide Call Center
LPL is pleased to partner with AARP and Coulee Region RSVP as we work together to prepare free tax returns for middle-low income taxpayers, with special attention given to seniors. Call center volunteers will serve as the first point of contact with community members, assisting them by scheduling tax appointments and providing information about necessary tax documents. An orientation will be held Wed, January 9th at 10 am. Volunteer shifts are 2 hours each week Mondays-Thursdays from 8 AM-3pm during tax season (January 14-April 12). Get more information on the AARP Tax-Aide service.
Help our public computers look their best for our patrons! The La Crosse Public Library is seeking volunteers to help clean computer keyboards, mouse devices and headphones at our Main Street Library to create a clean and welcoming atmosphere for our community. Volunteer shifts are 8 AM-9 AM before the library opens to the public each week on the following days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Unable to make a weekly volunteer commitment? Consider becoming a Patron Picks Book Reviewer! Volunteers will help generate interest among other patrons by creating and sharing reviews of La Crosse Public Library materials. A commitment of at least one submitted review per month is requested and can be completed remotely and at your own convenience.
