Lisa David Olson, a local author, improv comedian, and Heart of La Crosse cast member, will be at the La Crosse Public Library on Sunday, July 22 signing copies of her hilarious and poignant new book, Laughs on Wry: An Improviser's Memoir.

Books will be available for purchase directly from the author. A portion of the sales will be donated to Healthy Families Program at the Family & Children's Center of La Crosse.

More about the book: "Laughs On Wry: An Improviser's Memoir, is full of hysterical snippets from the author's life, from childhood to present day. Don’t miss out on this collection of short stories that is certain to spark your own fun memories. There’s even a chance you’re mentioned in one of Olson’s stories! Growing up with an alcoholic and abusive mother made for some very dark times. Author Lisa David Olson shares how humor helped her thrive through the worst incidents. Eventually humor became her second career. An improvisation artist, prankster and goofy friend, Olson is also a comedy writer, improv coach, silly mom and professional speaker. Olson runs a sketch comedy troupe called Heart of La Crosse, of which she has been a member since 1999. Laughs On Wry includes the author's personal learnings throughout the book as well as a photo section she describes as a Project In Bravery. A portion of book proceeds is being donated to a local Family and Children's Center, toward a program to assist struggling families. Make choices instead of excuses … and find the laughs in each day."
