We know how much our community values lifelong learning, book clubs, and special library events.  While we may not be able to gather together in person at this time, we’ve come up with some creative ways for you to stay virtually connected and engaged with the La Crosse Public Library!



JUNE PROGRAMS
Check out the digital programs we're premiering this week at LPL!

  • TECH CLASS: BOOK AND AUDIOBOOK APPS
    On Tuesday, June 2 at 10am we'll cover the library’s vast ebook and audiobook collection and also talk about other popular apps that offer free and cheap downloads.  The library is partnering with Parks and Recreation to offer these classes online. Call the South Side Neighborhood Center at 608-789-8298 to register. Library staff will email you the Zoom link to join the class.
     
  • TECH CLASS: HEALTH AND FITNESS APPS
    On Thursday, June 4 at 3pm we'll share some of our favorite ways to track our health and fitness. We’re hoping you have a few to share, too! The library is partnering with Parks and Recreation to offer these classes online. Call the South Side Neighborhood Center at 608-789-8298 to register. Library staff will email you the Zoom link to join the class.

  • STEADY HEADS OPEN HEARTS: BUILDING OUR RESILIENCE TOGETHER
    Resilience is our ability to make it through tough times and come out stronger on the other side. There are many things we can do to become more resilient.  On Wednesday, June 10 at 1:00pm join La Crosse Area Family Mental Health Director Sarah Johnson, for a virtual discussion on strategies to cultivate calm and build resilience in ourselves and others.  You can register through the calendar or call Heather at 608-789-7125 to save your virtual seat!
     
  • COFFEE AND GARDEN CHATS
    Join us on Thursday, June 11 at 8:00am as we discuss all things green and growing with Kaitlyn Davis, Agriculture Educator from the La Crosse County UW-Extension.
     
  • TECH CLASS: COOKING APPS
    On Thursday, June 11 at 12:00pm the library’s resident cookbook aficionado will talk about apps she uses and how she uses them. Feel free to share some of your favorites, too! The library is partnering with Parks and Recreation to offer these classes online. Call the South Side Neighborhood Center at 608-789-8298 to register.   • SUMMER CHAPTERS- KISS CARLO: ONLINE EDITION
    Let's get together on Tuesday, June 16 at noon for an online discussion of Kiss Carlo, by Adriana Trigiani. We'll be meeting virtually through Zoom.  To join the discussion, call Payge to register: 608-789-7145 or  email prustad@lacrosselibrary.org
     
  • B.Y.O.B. BRING YOUR OWN BOOK (CLUB)

    Join us Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00pm for B.Y.O.B. (Club) a new, non-traditional book club for adults. Instead of reading a predetermined title, participants meet online to share what they’re currently reading and pick up new recommended reads. Whether you can’t wait to talk up your new favorite title or just want to listen to the conversation, all are welcome to join!  Register via our events calendar or by emailing programteam@lacrosselibrary.org

  • Kat’s Krafty Korner: Join Kathy, our Adult Programming Librarian, for Kat’s Krafty Korner, where you can learn new crafting techniques and create simple projects from the comfort of your home.  Each week we’ll feature new videos on Tuesdays and Thursday to help you master your next craft project.
     
  • Simply Delicious Baking: Join us for a showcase of easy recipes that you can make from home.  
     
  • Take 5: Reference Tips: Join our Adult Services librarians for Take 5! Give us 5 minutes and we will give you tips to access great library services and digital resources.  New content every Wednesday at 8pm
