Per instructions from the City of La Crosse, all City of La Crosse staff and visitors are now required to wear a mask or cloth face-covering that covers their mouth and nose when inside a City of La Crosse building.
Patrons requesting materials will now receive electronic or phone notification that their items are available. Once a patron receives their hold notification, they can come to the Main St. Library to pick up their items during our current hours: Mon-Tue; Thu-Fri: 10am - 6pm; Sat: 1 - 5pm. For additional details on changes to the pickup/returns process, please click here.
What's your library story? The La Crosse Public Library is collecting impact statements that may be useful in demonstrating the collective value of our public library to community members and other stakeholders. Please submit your impact story using this brief form by July 31. If you would prefer to write your response, printed copies will be available at the Main Library. A link to a printable form can also be found here.

La Crosse Area Genealogical Society- Ethnic Treat Night
The La Crosse Area Genealogical Society meets on the fourth Tuesday of most months at the La Crosse Public Library. Each month, we'll be joined by a local speaker to explore a different aspect of genealogy.
In November, we'll be hosting our annual Ethnic Treat Night! Those attending are encouraged to bring an ethnic treat representing your heritage to share with the rest of the group. While we enjoy the treats, we'll have a discussion about the biggest obstacles we've encountered while doing family research.
