Join us via Zoom as we welcome Bao Xiong, local author and founder of Moth House Press, as she shares Hmong stories and culture from her books Folklore and The Butchers.
Join us to kick off the start of National Library Week! We'll be celebrating in our atrium with live music and refreshments. We'll also be unveiling the winning design for the first annual Record Award Banner Project. This beautiful new banner, designed by local artist Mai Chao, will be added to our existing "Libraries are for Everyone" display outside the Main Street Library.
Join us this Global Initiatives Week for a film screening of The Split Horn. "THE SPLIT HORN is the sweeping story of a Hmong shaman and his family living in Appleton, Wisconsin. Documenting the 17-year journey of Paja Thao and his family from the mountains of Laos to the heartland of America, this poignant film shows a shaman's struggles to maintain his ancient traditions as his children embrace American culture." -PBS
