Local Authors and Musicians-- Contribute Your Work to Creator's Corner
To showcase and support our many area authors and musicians, the La Crosse Public Library has established Creator’s Corner, located in the second floor magazine area at Main. This collection is for recent works by authors and musicians currently living in the seven Wisconsin counties served by the Winding Rivers Library System, and the neighboring Minnesota counties of Houston and Winona.
Authors/musicians wishing to contribute to this collection must meet the following criteria:
- Print materials must be bound with binding strong enough to withstand multiple checkouts. Loose pages, stapled or clipped pages, ring or fastener-type bindings will not be accepted.
- Music CDs must contain ALL original compositions. CDs must be submitted in a standard-sized jewel case with a maximum of two discs per case. Discs must be labeled with artist and title. Cassettes are not accepted.
- Works on DVD will not be accepted.
- Each contributed item must be accompanied by a completed Submission Form.
We sincerely appreciate local authors/musicians who are willing to support the library by donating their works to be shared with the community. The Creator’s Corner Collection will be entirely comprised of donated materials. The La Crosse Public Library does not purchase unsolicited materials. The library will only accept one copy of each title.
Materials contributed to this collection become the property of the library. The La Crosse Public Library reserves the right to refuse any title, or remove any title without notice, at any time, for any reason. For the sake of efficiency, it may take a few months before your contributed items are added to the collection, so keep checking!
Donated materials shelved in Creator’s Corner will be reviewed yearly, or as space is needed. Materials may be removed. Removed materials will not be returned to contributors.
Thank you for sharing your work with your community!
