Program Description

Event Details

The Dab Pog and the Xwb Kab are found throughout Hmong spiritual practices, from birth to marriage ceremonies to final rites. Register now to learn about Dab Pog, one of the oldest Hmong folklores that explores the story of the ancestral spirit guides of birth and death. In this program, we will review this story and dive into how that translates to cultural practices such as the calling of the hu plig (soul). The Dag Pog are often considered the creators and protectors of the Hmong. In counterbalance, we will also discuss the Xwb Kab, the spirit protectors of personal wealth and health, the home and hearth, and the alters often found in Hmong homes.
