An investigation into abuse and missing children at an Indian residential school in Canada ignites a reckoning on the nearby Sugarcane Reserve. Sugarcane was nominated for the Best Documentary Feature Film award at the 97th Academy Awards. Filmmakers are generously offering this film for free to the La Crosse community.
This event is in partnership between the Ho-Chunk Nation Youth & Learning Center at the La Crosse Ni Tani Hocira (Three Rivers House), UW Extension La Crosse County, The Rivoli Theatre, Western Technical College, Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, and the La Crosse Public Library.
