Program Description

Event Details

During narrative healing sessions, we engage with close reading of a poem or text, practice deep listening and attunement with others.  In the shadow of this text, a reflective writing exercise helps us to make personal meaning of the discussion.  In this particular session we will examine how language shapes the way we encounter and experience Longing

What does it mean to remember things you have never experienced, things that are nonetheless present in your DNA, in your bones?" asks the Irish poet Padraig O' Tuama.  Longing is a word ripe with meaning and association.  For some, longing is that deep sense of knowing, an origin that beckons us back home or to the beginning.  Longing can also be the shape of our desire, an ache in the body and the source of divine discontent.  Join us as we explore the word Longing in the format of a narrative healing session.

Registration is encouraged and all are welcome. If you need accommodation for any reason, please call the library at (608) 789-7100 or email info@lacrosselibrary.org.
